Marietta Woman Dies From Crash Involving Hurricane Irma Evacuees

Kathy Deming, 61, of Marietta died Tuesday from injuries suffered in pedestrian crash 10 days earlier.

MARIETTA, GA -- A third fatality from a deadly crash involving Hurricane Irma evacuees has been confirmed by Patch from police. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Kathy Deming, 61, succumbed to injuries suffered crash, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office confirmed to Patch.

Deming was the third and final victim in a pedestrian collision on Sept. 9. Also killed were Kaitlin Hunt, 28, and her 3-month-old baby girl, Riley. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

The women and baby were both crossing Arnold Mill Road near Hubbard Road when they were struck by a Jeep Patriot, authorities said. Seventeen-year-old Zoe Reardon of Atlanta was behind the wheel.
