EAST COBB, GA -- The new East Cobb restaurant Muss & Turner’s soft-opened Monday, Patch has learned. Patch has been following the restaurant's journey from the beginning, and now we have a glimpse of what the fare is like.

The East Cobb location looks markedly different from the Smyrna location: Two huge murals created by Muss & Turner's server Rachel Bongard will grace the walls. Also, the eatery will have a nostalgic vibe to it as 10 synchronized TVs will be playing old-school music videos from 1976 to 1996 to aid in the vintage ambiance.

The menu emphasizes sandwiches, soups and salads, along with a selective beverage program featuring about 23 wines, a handful of local craft drafts and eight signature drinks, including classics, seasonals and hand-crafted cocktails.

“We’ll be opening with a menu similar to the Smyrna lunch menu to start,” said co-partner Todd Mussman. “It’s familiar, we know it’s successful, and we can produce it on a high level. Plus, from our research, we understand that folks in East Cobb are looking for more quality food options at a lower price-point and you won’t necessarily find that in dinner entrees and small plates. So, we’re excited to offer a model we believe will resonate well with the community out of the gates.”

The concept will operate on a flex-causal model, offering counter service in daylight and switching to full table service at night.

One of the main architectural features of the eatery is its expansive kitchen, which was influenced by a combination of M&T designs and the old Common Quarter space.

“We enjoyed weaving in some familiar iconic elements into the design and décor of East Cobb, but we were stoked to get creative with new ideas too,” said co-partner Ryan Turner. “If someone is looking for a carbon copy of M&T Smyrna, they’ll be disappointed. We’re not ‘rubber stamping’ it. This is an original and we’re really excited about the environment we created. We ultimately designed a place that maintains our brand, but is also an exclusive experience to this neighborhood.”

Muss & Turner’s East Cobb will be open for service Sunday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
