Here are the top four stories in East Cobb today:

  1. The Gritters Library rebuild has been delayed, due to rising costs. The proposal was pulled on Tuesday by Commissioner JoAnn Burrell after she was unable to garner support from her colleagues. The $10 million proposal would have rebuilt the Gritters Library, as well as the Northeast Cobb Community Center across the street. The proposed budget was $2.5 million over the original estimate. (East Cobb News)
  2. Cobb commissioners have approved a short-term rental ordinance for the area. Going forward, short-term rentals in the unincorporated parts of Cobb will now be regulated by the county. In addition to regulations on the number of residents allowed in a short-term rental, the ordinance also requires a local agent to be responsible for handling noise and parking complaints. Short-term rentals will now have to pay the same taxes as hotels and motels, plus tourism fees and the applicable state and local taxes. (East Cobb News)
  3. There are five striking new East Cobb homes for sale. These residences have just hit the market, and people are already taking notice. The homes range from starter homes you can customize, as well as larger residences that are perfect for big families. Check out the link to see these homes and find out if one is the perfect fit for you. To get more information, contact a realtor. (East Cobb Patch)
  4. East Cobb has plenty of animals that need loving homes, and there's no better time than now to become a pet parent. There are well-trained, sweet older cats and dogs that need someone to love and care for them, as well as pumped-up puppies that would love to join you on your morning jog. Whether you're a cat person or a devout dog lover, these animals could make your family complete. (East Cobb Patch)
