🌱 Bus Driver Pay Raise Approved + Cobb Senior Services Director

Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

1. On Thursday, the Cobb Board of Education approved a major pay raise for bus drivers. The request for raises came from Superintendent Chris Ragsdale and was approved in a unanimous seven to zero vote after the district presented a recruiting video featuring interviews with current drivers. According to Ragsdale, all drivers will be getting raises of $5.25 an hour, boosting the current minimum hourly wage of $19.75 to $25 per hour, and topping out at $33.32 an hour, depending on salary steps. 2. The appointment of a new Cobb Senior Services Agency director has been approved. Ioana Bovo-Nicolescu's appointment was approved by The Cobb Board of Commissioners, coming as the senior services agency is marking its 50th anniversary. Bovo-Nicolescu has been with the department since 2016 and most recently served as manager of human services and previously worked with Special Needs Cobb. (East Cobb News)
