Pope, Walton Runners Win Cobb Title
East Cobb teams finished strong in the county cross country meet Saturday.

East Cobb runners bested the field in the individual portion of the Cobb County cross country meet Saturday.
Kenan Farmer of Walton won the boys title with a time of 15:36, a record at the Cobb County Corps Property course in Acworth, according to The Marietta Daily Journal.
In the girls' division, Ashley Kehoe of Pope bested the field with a time of 19:03, while Avery Bussjager of Walton was second in 19:10.
Those finishes weren't enough to lift East Cobb schools to team titles, but they came close.
Marietta won the boys and girls team events, with Walton second and Pope, ranked No. 7 in Class 5A, came in fourth. The Walton boys finished fourth.
The meet was one of the last few in the Cobb area for high school cross country teams who are nearing the climax of their seasons.
Walton's runners will be off in Tallahassee next weekend for the FSU Invitational, while Pope runners will be in a home meet of sorts, sponsored by Chick-fil-A next Saturday.
Region and state meets will take place in early November.
