  1. A portion of Gordy Parkway near a busy traffic area of North Cobb has been closed for drainage repairs. As of Monday afternoon, Gordy Parkway is closed in both directions between Shallowford Road and Edenbourgh Place, right behind the Home Depot store at the Highland Plaza Shopping Center, according to the Cobb County government. At this time, it's unclear how long the closure will last. (East Cobb News)
  2. On Tuesday, Cobb County issued a news release that the boil water advisory that was put in effect for part of north central Cobb County on Monday has been lifted. The boil advisory was put into effect after a sensor failure caused a low-pressure situation in an area surrounding Sandy Plains and Wigley Road on Monday morning. According to the release, water quality testing confirmed that tap water is safe to drink and meets all regulatory standards. Residents can contact (770) 419-6200 with any questions. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Across Atlanta, more than 96 Shell stations have launched "The Giving Pump" to offer consumers the opportunity to use their fill-up for good. Now through Oct. 31, drivers will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, a collective of 26 Boys & Girls Clubs across metropolitan Atlanta — including James T. Anderson Boys & Girls Club in Marietta — by using the designated pump at select Shell stations. To find a participating station, visit shell.us/givingpump. (Shell)
