Rain Doesn't Dampen East Cobb's Parade
Despite soggy conditions, the show went on down Johnson Ferry Road Saturday morning.
Not long after the 18th annual EAST COBBER parade began Saturday morning, the rain started falling, just as forecast.Â
But the marchers heading down Johnson Ferry Road, and those lined up to watch, were undeterred, as the celebration of community went off as usual.Â
There were some absences -- local public high school marching bands did not appear, with weather and Friday night football games being a factor.Â
But a parade regular, the Joyful Noise Homeschool Band, did show up, playing its customary "When the Saints Go Marching In" anthem.Â
And plenty of community and school groups and organizations were on tossing out candy, handing out cards and coupons and blowing up balloons for East Cobbers taking in one of the area's most venerable traditions.Â
The event's festival also continued at the Fountains of Olde Towne Shopping Center.Â
At the end of the attached photo gallery is a brief video compilation from today's parade.Â
