  1. Early voting for the midterm elections began on Monday, and Cobb County has already seen a record-breaking number of voters. By Monday evening approximately 9,675 voters had already cast their ballots. According to officials, this number is Cobb's highest ever for the first day of early voting. The previous record was set back in 2020, when roughly 7,700 voters cast their ballots on the first day of early voting. (Yahoo News)
  2. The popular discount grocery chain Lidl is coming to Northeast Cobb. According to official papers, Lidl plans to set up shop at the southwest intersection of Canton Road and Piedmont Road. The estimated size of the upcoming supermarket is about 31,000 square feet. Lidl already has one location in East Cobb, which opened back in 2020. (East Cobb News)
  3. The family of a local woman whose body was discovered at a Cobb County construction site "wants answers" from the authorities. Reports indicate that 40-year-old Amanda Sharpe died at a motel on Cobb Parkway before her body was moved to a construction site off Ivey Road in nearby Acworth on Friday. Sharpe's official cause of death has not yet been released, but a suspect has been charged and was booked into the Cobb County Jail on Tuesday. (WSB Atlanta)
