EAST COBB, GA — The decision to rezone East Cobb land for a megachurch development was delayed — yet again — on Tuesday when Cobb County commissioners postponed it ahead of a likely split vote.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners normally has five members, but only four were able to attend Tuesday’s meeting. Chairwoman Lisa Cupid was excused because of a death in her family earlier Tuesday, according to East Cobb News.

With only four commissioners present — and commissioners JoAnn Birrell and Keli Gambrill saying they wouldn’t vote for rezoning — commissioner Jerica Richardson moved to delay North Point’s Ministries’ rezoning application until September.
