Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

  1. Cobb County police detained several people for questioning after a fight broke out outside a Cobb County Walmart yesterday, Dec. 7. There were reports of an active shooter at the store on Chastain Meadows Parkway, but the shooting was from two groups of people fighting outside of the Walmart’s automotive center. One person was shot during the incident and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. (WSB-TV 2)
  2. One of East Cobb's standout holiday lights displays, put on by the Fox family, is now available nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at 2994 Clary Hill Court. The animated display features thousands of lights and is synchronized to music that you can hear on 88.3 FM. Santa will also visit on select days. Visit the Facebook page for details. (East Cobb News)
  3. Two members of the Cobb Board of Education, first-term Democrats Charisse Davis of Post 6 and Jaha Howard of Post 2, did not seek re-election this year. After today's work session and voting session, Davis will be succeeded by Democrat Nichelle Davis and Howard will be succeeded by Democrat Becky Sayler. (East Cobb News)

Are you an East Cobb resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market? Consider fine art. Masterworks is the award-winning platform helping 575,000+ invest in works by the same world-renowned artists that are coveted by ultra-wealthy collectors and major museums alike (think Picasso, Basquiat, and Banksy.) Masterworks splits these multi-million dollar works into shares, so you can invest without breaking the bank.

Contemporary art has outpaced the stock market by a whopping 131% over the last 26 years. Seven of Masterworks’ eight sold paintings gave their investors a +17.8% net returns*.
