Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

  1. At least one person was shot Monday afternoon near the Taco Mac at Parkway Point. The Cobb County Police report that a suspect has been detained, however, no other details about the victim or suspect have been released. The investigation is ongoing. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Political advocacy group, For Which It Stance, is fighting against redrawing legislative maps that would remove commissioner Jerica Richardsonher from her seat. The "fill the room" initiative encourages locals to speak at tonight's commissioner meeting. Notifications of the movement have been shared across the Cobb County Democratic Committee Facebook, as well as similar messages on the Cobb County Republican pages to "show up and support our state constitution."   3. Down the road in Marietta, the Marietta Square Farmer's Market has been serving the local community for roughly six years. With an average of 54 vendors, customers can enjoy seasonal fruits, flowers, honey, empanadas, and more. The market, located off Mill Street, is open from 9:00 a.m. to noon every Saturday year-round.
