'ShowStoppers' Seeks Student Actors

The Sandy Springs-based Act3 Productions is holding auditions on March 23.

Tomorrow’s stars of stage and screen might be today’s elementary, middle
and high school students.

Act3 Productions in Sandy Springs is inviting metro-Atlanta students from kindergarten through 12 th grade to audition for ShowStoppers 2013, ArtSSprings annual youth talent competition.

Those interested may present their talent for up to 2 ½ minutes on March 23 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. at Act3 Playhouse, behind Trader Joe’s in Sandy Springs Plaza, 6285 Roswell Road. Auditions are by appointment only and there is an audition fee of $15. Contact michelle.act3@gmail.com.

Act3 staff will select finalists in three age groups and coach them for a final performance before a panel of judges from the Atlanta entertainment industry. Cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50 will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers in each of the three age categories.

Rickets to the performances will be $10 for students and seniors, $15 for adults and $25 for reserved seats and can be purchased online.

ArtSSprings is an annual 30-day spring celebration of the arts in Sandy Springs and includes theater, music, visual arts, book signings, dance and more. It is presented by ArtSandySprings (ArtSS), a membership-based volunteer organization that exists to promote local arts and artists.
