Slotin's First TV Ad Focuses On Ending Washington Discord

Democrat Ron Slotin releases his first TV spot, focusing on fixing Washington.

EAST COBB, GA -- Sixth District candidate Ron Slotin has released his first TV ad, doubling down on the inability of Congress to get things down.

"You look at Washington -- what the heck is going on? The fighting, the gridlock. Nothing's being done," he says in the spot, which debuted Wednesday online.

The Democrat, who served in the Georgia Senate for one term in the 1990s, has played up his experience against the other four candidates in his party -- Regin Edwards, Richard Keatley, Rebecca Quigg and Jon Ossoff.

In the spot, Slotin throws what seems to be a subtle jab at Ossoff, the 30-year-old first-time candidate who has basically pulled to a dead even heat with Republican Karen Handel in early polling.

"It's time to send an adult to Washington to get results for you," Slotin says in the ad, addressing 6th District voters directly.

As Patch previously reported, Slotin has received endorsements from two north Atlanta city councilwomen -- Lynn Deutsch of Dunwoody and Leslie Robson of Chamblee.

Slotin, chief marketing officer for executive search firm BrightWell Talent, is well known among Atlanta's Jewish community, having served as publisher of the magazine Atlanta Jewish Life and having run a TV show geared toward a Jewish audience.

Along with stopping the infighting in Washington, Slotin sees one of his goals in the 6th District as bringing mass transit to the north Fulton suburbs.
