  1. Cobb County's Department of Transportation will host a public workshop to engage the community in selecting a site for the proposed South Cobb Transit Center, as reported by the department. In a move to enhance transit accessibility and community involvement, the workshop seeks public input on potential locations, design features, and environmental considerations. This participatory initiative underscores the county's commitment to improving the local public transportation infrastructure while ensuring the decisions made reflect the needs and aspirations of the residents.   2. Smyrna Police are investigating a series of car burglaries involving Kindred Pierce and Tygee Robinson at a business plaza on Highlands Parkway and another location in Cobb County. Pierce led police on a chase after multiple break-ins, while Robinson is accused of stealing a wallet and a firearm. Amidst this crime wave, Chicago Pizza and Sports Grille's owner, David Shortlidge, warns customers to secure their valuables and notes increased police patrols in the area. (WSB-TV)
  3. A late-night fire, potentially ignited by a lightning strike, ravaged an apartment complex on 300 Riverside Parkway in Cobb County, as confirmed by local fire authorities. Firefighters, who arrived around 11 p.m., battled extensive flames engulfing the rooftop and managed to contain the blaze to a single building, although it resulted in the destruction of at least ten units. While the fire left 25 residents displaced, who are now receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. (11 Alive)
