- East Cobb Park in Cobb County was the first public-private partnership for a park in the county, and it is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The Friends for the East Cobb Park, a nonprofit group that worked with Cobb County Parks, is seeking new members to take a more active role in plotting out the future of the park, which has been a popular and successful community asset. The group relies 100 percent on donations and spent $20,000 last year to replace the front playground fencing. (East Cobb News)
- The Cobb Board of Education has extended the contract of the superintendent, Chris Ragsdale. On Thursday, the board voted 4-2-1 after meeting in an executive session. Reflecting the board's recent partisan differences, Democrats Tre’ Hutchins and Becky Sayler opposed while all four Republicans voted in favor. Democrat Nichelle Davis abstained. (East Cobb News)
- Two massage parlors in Cobb County are under investigation after complaints from residents and businesses. Employees from Jasmine Massage and Dijuan Massage were arrested and charged with offering sexual services in exchange for money to undercover agents. Police are working to determine if these businesses are involved in organized crime or if employees were acting independently. (WSBTV)

- Cobb County Public Library is hosting a DIY yarn pom-pom session on Feb. 23 where teens can experiment with different yarn types and textures to create a flower-shaped wall hanging to take home or give as a gift. Registration is required. (Cobb County Public Library via Facebook)
