Timber Ridge Joins Cobb EMC in Career Day
The East Cobb school took part in the most recent Partner in Education program.
Cobb EMC recently hosted nearly 70 students from six Partner in Education schools for the cooperative’s 22nd annual Career Day. During the event, elementary students from Timber Ridge, Allatoona, Boston, Due West, Ford and Russom spent the morning job shadowing employees across the company.
Filling out an application for the career for which they felt most qualified helped strengthen job search skills for each student prior to the event. Top candidates were then given ID badges for their first day on the job.
After working through the morning, some students were joined by their parents and teachers for a luncheon, hosted by Cobb EMC. Senior vice president of human resources, John Plunkett, offered students encouraging words, urging them to always ask why and to never stop learning.
