  1. State Rep. David Wilkerson will host a town hall meeting near Mableton on Jan. 18 to discuss efforts to de-annex portions of Mableton from the newly-created City of Powder Springs. Rep. Wilkerson said last week that he would file legislation to remove parts of the annexed city where most residents voted against the formation of the city. (Yahoo News)
  2. Two national faith-based youth groups will be forming chapters in East Cobb starting next month. On Feb. 7, there will be an organizational meeting for American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA at the Marietta Alliance Church down the road from East Cobb. (East Cobb News)
