Traditional Marietta High School Prank in Danger
Past administrations had tolerated the prank in the past, but recent pranksters have received in-school suspension.

A traditional beginning of year the school prank by the senior class at Marietta High School is in danger of disappearing after the latest set of pranksters were slapped with in-school suspensions for their actions.
For years, outgoing upperclassmen have deluged the campus with toilet paper rolls. For years, administrators threatened to take action against the seniors but always let the fun continue. This year, however, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that roughly 40 seniors will spend one day confined to in-school suspension.
Parents are concerned with the sudden change of face, with some worrying about their childrens’ college prospects with a suspension on their records. Principal Forrestella Taylor told the AJC that the suspensions were handed out because the ’rolling’ had evolved from a small gathering to a well-organized mass event, with school officials unable to guarantee the safety of that many students on campus at night.

The suspended students will still be allowed to attend the school’s upcoming pep rally and football game at their renovated stadium, Taylor told the AJC.
