- Improvements to the Johnson Ferry Road-Shallowford Road intersection with a $495,292 price tag are set to go before the Cobb County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday of next week, Jun. 13. The intersection improvements are part of the first phase of many infrastructural renovations planned for the coming months, funded by the 2022 Cobb SPLOST (Special-Purpose Local-Option Sales Tax). The Cobb Department of Transportation has recommended the metro area-based construction firm Kimley-Horn Associates, Inc. for the work. (East Cobb News)
- Gabriel Constantine stands accused of home invasion, armed robbery, and leading police on a car chase throughout Cobb County. According to authorities, Constantine had a knife and a police baton on him when he is alleged to have committed multiple crimes. Constantine is alleged to have stolen a car, reportedly attempted to steal several other cars, and is said to have threatened residents in a Cobb County neighborhood — much of which has been caught on video. Police called to the scene were forced to chase Constantine for 17 miles; he is in jail as of Jun. 8 and has been charged with almost 10 felonies including (but not limited to) burglary, home invasion, and aggravated assault. - A truck driver has been charged in a hit-and-run in Marietta that nearly killed a man. Driver Miguel Bacilio-Marquez is accused of having struck Oscar Sanchez, 40, while driving a white Ford F-150, at Delk Road near the I-75 overpass shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jun. 4. According to witnesses, after hitting Sanchez, Bacilio-Marquez drove away from the scene. Sanchez is still in a local hospital in critical condition as of Thursday, Jun. 8. (Fox 5 Atlanta)

Board of Commissioners and Chamber of Commerce leaders recently traveled to New York City to meet with ratings agency personnel to better represent the county and save taxpayers money.
