- The Cobb Board of Commissioners has voted to table proposals to regulate trash service. The commissioners approved tabling the amendments until January in a four-to-one vote on Tuesday. Commissioner JoAnn Birrell of Northeast Cobb, who supported tabling the trash proposals, cast the dissenting vote; however, she doesn’t think the proposals need to be brought back at all. - Beginning next week, the Cobb County Public Library will be hosting a four-session workshop on the practical skills to begin or improve your creative writing. The workshop will feature Atlanta native and public relations content professional Cory Olesen, who will introduce participants to the basics of writing, the different steps in the writing process, and how to progress through them. Ultimately, participants will leave with the ability to write, edit, and critique a short story of their own. The workshop will take place on Sep. 21 and runs on select Wednesdays through Dec. 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center.
