Walton Tennis Player Continues Comeback

Learn how Sophia Guldberg overcame multiple surgeries to play for the Lady Raiders' state championship team.

Press release:

Sophia Guldberg, a tennis player at Walton High School, is a finalist for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Comeback Athlete of the Year. A panel from Children’s chose a Comeback Athlete of the Month from October 2012 until May 2013, and now those eight winners are eligible for the overall award.

Sophia was the May winner after being treated at Children's for spondylolisthesis. She had two back surgeries and sports physical therapy and has since returned to the tennis court where she helped lead Walton to another state championship last month.
