The short film, named “Tiny Miracles,” highlights the extraordinary love of Kennestone NICU nurse, Renee Hendrix, RN and the impact she has made on families for more than 30 years.
“I treat the babies like I would want someone to treat my babies, that’s the most important thing,” said Hendrix, a mother of four and grandmother of two. “I do keep in touch with families once they’ve gone home. It’s so rewarding to see how they’re progressing…and just knowing you had a part of that is just a wonderful feeling.”

The short documentary features babies who are still in the incubator all the way up to 15 years of age. Parents who remember Hendrix’ special touch share their memories. “She loved my child as her own child,” one mom remembered. A dad said, “Renee saved my son’s life multiple times.”
The video, which can be viewed below, has a twist at the end, a surprise Hendrix will always remember. Kleenex box recommended.
Renee Hendrix is one of many nurturing nurses at WellStar hospitals who are there for our most precious patients every minute of every day. A special thanks goes out to all of WellStar’s incredible NICU nurses.
