So, what Christian church invites a Jewish rabbi to speak at a faith-based men's meeting? Our church! This past Tuesday, the Grace Resurrection Men’s Group experienced a truly memorable evening filled with meaningful conversation, shared values, and profound insights as Senior Rabbi Daniel Dorsch of Etz Chaim Synagogue joined us as our honored guest speaker.

The evening began with a delicious dinner and warm fellowship in Mickler Fellowship Hall, where laughter and conversation flowed freely. After the meal, Rabbi Dorsch delivered a powerful and enlightening presentation on the Jewish faith—covering its rich traditions, misunderstood aspects, and common misperceptions. He thoughtfully highlighted areas of deep spiritual overlap between Judaism and Christianity, offering a broader understanding of Jewish holidays and practices. Many of us heard things we had never learned before, and it was eye-opening in the best possible way.

The evening continued with a visit next door to Etz Chaim Synagogue, where Rabbi Dorsch personally led a tour, pointing out the significance of various symbols and artwork throughout the space. He also shared the remarkable story of Etz Chaim’s 50-year history, deepening our appreciation for their legacy in the community.

We closed the night with thoughtful conversation and a renewed sense of connection. The Grace Men’s Group extends heartfelt thanks to Rabbi Dorsch and the Etz Chaim congregation for their generous hospitality. The evening reminded us of the beauty that unfolds when faiths listen to one another, neighbors become friends, and hearts open not just to learn—but to grow.
