1. The high will only be about 88 today, the National Weather Service says, but don’t worry—the humidity still will make it feel as if it’s in the upper 90s. There’s a 60 percent chance showers and thunderstorms will burst out on this muggy, cloudy day, especially after 2 p.m. Overnight, the low will be about 71, and more rain is likely.

2. The East Marietta National Little League all-star team continues to roll, winning Saturday and Sunday in the state tournament in Cartersville. With a win tonight against the host team, the Giants will all but clinch a spot in the semifinals. East Cobb Patch will have the story overnight.

On the county government front, the Board of Commissioners will meet for an agenda work session at 9 a.m. at 100 Cherokee St., although we know the biggest item on the agenda at Tuesday night’s board meeting will be the proposed millage rate increase. The Planning Commission will hold a work session at 1:30 p.m. at 1150 Powder Springs Rd. The Transit Advisory Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at 463 Commerce Park Dr., Suite 114.
