Whole Foods Tours, Baseball Scores

Here's what you need to know to start July 25 in East Cobb.

1. The high will only be about 88 today, the National Weather Service says, but don’t worry—the humidity still will make it feel as if it’s in the upper 90s. There’s a 60 percent chance showers and thunderstorms will burst out on this muggy, cloudy day, especially after 2 p.m. Overnight, the low will be about 71, and more rain is likely.

2. The East Marietta National Little League all-star team continues to roll, winning Saturday and Sunday in the state tournament in Cartersville. With a win tonight against the host team, the Giants will all but clinch a spot in the semifinals. East Cobb Patch will have the story overnight.

3. Whole Foods Market is holding its this Wednesday, but the store granted over the weekend. Later this morning, you can take the tour with East Cobb Patch’s photo gallery.

4. Public schools in East Cobb should have their bus routes available today. Check with your school’s website (you should be able to find a link to your school’s site through our Places directory), or pay the school a visit. The first day of school is exactly three weeks away.

5. On the county government front, the Board of Commissioners will meet for an agenda work session at 9 a.m. at 100 Cherokee St., although we know the biggest item on the agenda at Tuesday night’s board meeting will be the proposed millage rate increase. The Planning Commission will hold a work session at 1:30 p.m. at 1150 Powder Springs Rd. The Transit Advisory Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at 463 Commerce Park Dr., Suite 114.
