Woman Suing Cobb School District Following Arrest
The woman allegedly made an inappropriate remark at a high school event and was arrested for disrupting public school earlier this year.

The Cobb County School District has been sued by a mother who says she was wrongfully arrested after she made her displeasure over a school event known.
Cynthia Yates was at 9th grade advisement night at Harrison High School in February when she became frustrated with how disorganized the event was. Yates tells WSB-TV that she was told she wasn’t even able to leave without visiting all the tables at the event, which caused her to exclaim that the person who organized the event should be ”shot in the head.”
Unfortunately, the person she said this to was the one who organized the event, Yates says.

A week after the event, police came to her door and arrested her for disrupting public school; a warrant says she started yelling and threatened to shoot an employee. WSB-TV reports that the charges have since been dropped, but Yates says her freedom of speech was violated and has filed suit against the school district.
