Jackson EMC Foundation awards $49K to agencies serving Gwinnett County residents (jacksonprogress-argus.com) — A Gainesville-based nonprofit, Hispanic Alliance GA, is receiving $2,500 from the Jackson EMC Foundation to buy food for families in need across Hall and nearby counties. Several other food pantries and cooperatives in Gwinnett and surrounding areas also earned grants, all funded by Jackson EMC members who round up their power bills to support local assistance programs. 
2. Gainesville man arrested for leaving scene of an accident (accesswdun.com) — A Gainesville man is in the Hall County Jail after deputies say he left the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Ga. 369/Browns Bridge Road early Monday. Investigators allege he was picked up by a friend before officers arrived and later turned himself in, now facing several misdemeanor traffic-related charges.
3. Dirtbike rider fails to elude police and wrecks in Hall County Wednesday (accesswdun.com) — Hall County readers should know that a teenage dirtbike rider led Georgia State Patrol on a chase along State Route 60 and nearby rural roads Wednesday afternoon before crashing off Chestatee Road. The investigation is being handled by the GBI’s Gainesville Post 6 barracks, and the 18-year-old driver was taken into custody without injuries and cited for multiple traffic violations.
4. Appalachian Regional Port achieves record November (ajot.com) — A new inland port called the Blue Ridge Connector is under construction in the Gainesville area, promising to link local manufacturers directly to the Port of Savannah by rail starting in spring 2026. Port officials expect strong demand thanks to its proximity to I-85, Atlanta, and Northeast Georgia industry, potentially easing truck traffic and boosting jobs and investment across the region.
5. 3 Northeast Georgia Medical Centers recognized for maternity care (accesswdun.com) — Families in Gainesville can take pride that Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville has earned a “High Performing” rating and a special “Maternity Care Access” designation from U.S. News & World Report. The recognition highlights safer deliveries, fewer unnecessary C-sections, and strong breastfeeding support, placing Gainesville’s hospital in an elite group of facilities nationwide for both quality and access.
