• GoFundMe page launched for missing Gainesville native (accesswdun.com) — A GoFundMe has been launched to support search efforts for Charles Hosch, a 67-year-old Gainesville native who went missing while hiking near Blood Mountain in Union County. His family and multiple search-and-rescue teams, including Hall County responders, plan intensive searches Dec. 13–14 and are seeking both donations and volunteers to keep the effort going.

• Ivester Foundation commits $1.1 million to UGA School of Medicine scholarships (uga.edu) — Students from Gainesville and Hall County stand to benefit from a new $2.2 million scholarship fund created by the Ivester Foundation for UGA’s new School of Medicine. The gift, matched by UGA, prioritizes Hall County students and builds on decades of Ivester support for local schools, colleges, and health care education tied to Gainesville and the surrounding area.

• Girls basketball: Buford, NoFo, GHS take region wins; Branch falls in 8-4A opener (accesswdun.com) — Gainesville High’s girls basketball team stayed perfect in Region 7-5A with a 42-29 road win over Roswell, led by 13 points from Jaucelyn Smith. The Lady Red Elephants, now 2-0 in region play, return home Friday to host Lanier at Davis-Hill Gym, while other area teams like Buford, North Forsyth, and Flowery Branch also saw key region action.

- This is a picture of my little dog his name is Olaf he rides with me everywhere friendly but a little skittish we went out yesterday off of where honeysuckle Road meets Clarks bridge Road we got out to walk and I don't know if he got scared or what
but he ran off I could not find him last night at all so please everyone keep an eye out for him he is my little buddy 470-948-5438 please call me if… (Nextdoor Jim Hood/Nopone and North) - So, I had a stray follow me home one day from the neighborhood park and little did I know she was pregnant.
