• Jury trial begins for man accused of murder in 2019 assault (wsav.com) — A Guyton resident is now on trial in Savannah, accused in connection with a 2019 New Year’s Eve assault that prosecutors say led to a retired Savannah firefighter’s death. Jurors will hear how the victim was punched at a Wilmington Island bar, later fell into a coma, and died from a brain injury classified as homicide.
