Girl Locked in Snellville Daycare Bus for Over an Hour

The 6-year-old reportedly fell asleep in the bus and was left in there for 90 minutes.

The AJC reported that a 6-year-old girl was locked inside a Prodigy Point Early Childhood Center bus for 90 minutes. The school is located at 2845 Centerville Highway.

State officials are investigating the case, but no criminal charges are pending. 

According to WSB-TV, the girl fell asleep on the four-row bus on her way to the center after her Kindergarten class and woke up alone. She told her mother that when she tried to exit the bus, all the doors were locked.

Another parent saw the girl from the parking lot and notified school staff. Drivers are supposed to walk the aisles of the bus before they park, followed by staff of the school, according to the AJC. 

The bus transportation program has been suspended for 12 months.
