Gwinnett Officer Accused Of Hitting Moped Driver Who Died
The Gwinnett police officer was looking at an in-car computer when he hit a moped driver, state authorities said.
HALL COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett County police officer is charged with second-degree vehicular homicide after authorities said he hit and killed a moped driver last week while looking at his in-car computer, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Michael Brady, 49, is also charged with following too closely, the GSP said.
Brady, a master police officer who has been with the Gwinnett Police Department since 2006, is under internal investigation, the police department told the AJC.

He was driving to work when authorities say he hit the driver around 5:45 a.m., Sept. 9, south near McEver Road at J. White Road in Hall County, troopers said.
Fox 5 Atlanta reported the moped driver died the next day.

The AJC reported Brady's law enforcement certification is in good standing.
Patch reached out to Gwinnett police, but the department declined to comment.
