Man Shot, Killed By Police In Norcross; GBI Investigating
Gwinnett police told Patch no officers were injured in the Friday morning shooting.
NORCROSS, GA — The GBI is investigating after a person died Friday after being shot by a police officer in the 5200 block of Singleton Road in Norcross, Gwinnett authorities said.
Officers responded to a suspicious person call around 8:30 a.m., when they encountered a male suspect, police said.
The man was armed with a gun and walking on a soccer field, police said. According to authorities, the man pointed the gun at police who were trying to approach him.

An officer shot the man and he was taken to a local hospital, where he died, police said.
No officers were injured in the shooting, police said.

Authorities found a note addressed to the Gwinnett County Police Department in the man's pocket at the hospital, police said. It is unknown what was on the note.
The identity of the person who died was not released.
Part of Singleton Road is blocked, authorities said.
People are asked to avoid the area.
