Attention Span-less

Did you hear? The LSU players are stuck in New Orleans because someone painted a 50-yard-line around their bus and they can’t figure out how to cross it.

OK, OK, that was my only tacky football joke for the year. I wouldn’t have posted it, but I got a lot of laughs from Georgia fans yesterday, so I figured some of y’all would get a kick out of it. LSU fans, don't hate me. I heard enough missed-field-goal jokes in November.

I’m struggling this week. The motivation is there but the attention span is not.

I’m beginning to wonder: Do we expose ourselves to so much so quickly that we’re unable to focus on any one thing?

For example: When was the last time you read an entire article in a magazine? I mean every single word?

I was trying to read GMAT books a few nights ago and could barely focus long enough to read through a word problem.

Even as I write this, I’m checking on email, news outlets, the Holly Springs Patch Facebook page, my cellphone and those lemon poppy seed mini muffins that are in the oven.

Do you struggle to focus because we’re constantly being bombarded with information?

So as I push through these days, I’ll try to focus on one task at one time. Or maybe two tasks at one time because those muffins are really starting to smell good.
