Gingrich Wins Cherokee
If street-side support is any indication, Gingrich has the advantage.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Newt Gingrich has won Cherokee County with 16,570 votes. Mitt Romney came in second with 7,657 votes, and Rick Santorum came in third with 6092 votes.

As of 3 p.m., Cherokee County has had approximately 14,000 voters come out to the polls, Supervisor Janet Munda said. There are 136,000 registered active and inactive voters in the county.

At almost 3 1/2 hours into the GOP Primary in Georgia, only one candidate has supporters lining the streets with signs.
Newt Gingrich signs are on the street in throngs near polling places and along the major roads.
What's missing? Signs for any other candidate.
Also at the social hub for our community, the GOP coffee bean caucus that has been running since the beginning of campaign season has Gingrich as the leader.
Cafe owner Frank Cole said Romney was the early leader in the caucus, but now trails Gingrich, 31 percent to 38 percent.
Rick Santorum has 19 percent of the 9, 459 coffee bean votes while Ron Paul has 12 percent.
Will the GOP Primary be enough to draw out voters, though? As of 10:30 a.m., the three polling precincts in the area had vacant parking lots and minimal traffic.
