Chattahoochee HS Senior signs with Rice University

Hooch's Cameron Sheffield signs with Rice University

Chattahoochee High School Senior Cameron Sheffield signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at prestigious Rice University in Houston, Texas. Rice University is a NCAA Division I school and competes in Conference USA.

Sheffield, a four-year varsity letter winner, was captain of the 2019 and 2020 Chattahoochee Boys' Varsity Basketball team. As a junior, Sheffield avg. 23 pts., 9 rebs., 3 assists for Coach Chris Short and was selected Second Team All-State and First Team All-Region. Cameron is the younger brother of former Chattahoochee basketball standout Marcus Sheffield II, who recently played and graduated from Stanford University.
Cameron is widely known as a deadly three-point shooter with great size and a fierce competitor who rebounds extremely well from the guard position. Sheffield played travel basketball for Game Elite under Coach Tremayne Anchrum on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. Sheffield chose Rice University and Coach Scott Pera early in the recruiting process from a host of Division I offers to choose from.
