Chattahoochee HS Senior signs with University of Alabama

Hooch's Savannah Slater to Swim at University of Alabama

Chattahoochee High School's Savannah Slater has signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. University of Alabama is a NCAA Division I school and competes in the SEC.

Savannah Slater, a 4 year team member, was a captain of the 2018-2019 Chattahoochee Swim and Dive Team. She was awarded the Swim and Dive MVP for the 2016-2017 season and awarded the Swim and Dive Cougar Award for the 2018-2019 season. Savannah was awarded all 4 years the Athletic Academic Award and earned her Varsity Letters all 4 years. Savannah competed for CHS all 4 years at the 6A Georgia High School State Championships. She won the bronze medal at the 2019 Championships for the 100 yard Backstroke with the time of 58.02.

Savannah began her swimming career at age 6 with Swim Atlanta. She moved up swim team levels at Swim Atlanta and is part of their Junior Nationals team. In March of 2018 at the American Junior National Classic in Clearwater, Florida, Savannah placed first in 100 yard Backstroke with at time of 56.02 and first place in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.15. She chose University of Alabama for both their Crimson Tide Athletics and Creative Media academic programs.
