- Sports Turf Company is kicking off Georgia high school football with the Corky Kell Classic sponsorship for the fifth consecutive year. The four-day event consists of 11 games at four separate locations, including Johns Creek and Marietta, as well as a coaches' and players' luncheon with a green carpet for interviews, videos, and photos. The Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins said, “This event allows us to engage and interact with current and past clients while supporting the top coaches and athletes in the Southeast.” (EIN News)
- A local unlicensed contractor took $16K without finishing the deck he was hired to build. Joseph Sgroe's partial payment earned him two days of work from Billy Cox, the owner of Cox Construction Services, back in April. Since then, Sgroe hasn't heard from Cox at all. A new deck requires a permit and Johns Creek officials said Cox didn’t get one for this project. Both Johns Creek and the secretary of state’s office are investigating this incident. (CBS 46 News)
- After 20 years, Accent Fence of Georgia has announced its new location in Norcross. Accent Cece CEO Gary Meyer said, "We spent considerable time in locating a new home for Accent Fence as we had outgrown our previous warehouse and showroom." The company hopes this location will prove to be convenient and accessible for customers. Accent Fence's service area includes the greater Atlanta area and its surrounding cities, including Johns Creek. (PR Web)
