Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. Police have charged 33-year-old JC Ray-Mancilla with murder in the shooting death of his wife Tania Rivera during a domestic violence incident in Johns Creek Tuesday morning. Police responded to Hunters Forest around 8 a.m. and entered after hearing gunshots from inside the home. The police did not provide comment on how Ray-Mancilla himself was shot in the head but that he had been treated for the wound. (Appen Media)
  2. The Olympic Fencers Club on Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek opened in 2010 and has been ranked the No. 1 club in the U.S. Fencing: Georgia Division. Coaches Henry Jung and Annie Lee opened the club five years after they moved from Korea, where they met on opposing teams. Students at the club have been recruited to fence at Princeton, Penn State, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Olympic Fencers Club offers a free beginner class every Friday for all ages, starting at 5 years old. Students can then join the beginners class, kids class, or teen and adult class. (Appen Media)
  3. Johns Creek and other cities are still battling with Fulton County over the division of sales tax revenue. The cities argue that the county should actually receive half of its current share, not the 35% it's proposing. They have until Dec. 30 to come to an agreement. If they cannot agree, they can use a mediator or move into arbitration. (Axios)
