Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. Fulton County Juvenile Court and the Department of Arts & Culture have partnered to create the "Courtyard of Second Chances" for young adults who pass through the Juvenile Justice Center. The unique outdoor space is designed to help relieve the trauma of justice-involved youth. The courtyard will use artwork, plants, and pathways to provide a therapeutic environment as well as a dining area, special events space, restorative garden, and play areas. Officials expect the first phase of the project to be completed in the coming months. (Fulton County GA)
  2. The Johns Creek Police Department is warning the community of a recent scam that is becoming prevalent in the area. The victim receives a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS or any other government agency and is told they owe money. The scammer tells the victim that they must pay immediately or they will be arrested. The Johns Creek Police Department said this is not how the system works and any phone call like this is a scam. (Johns Creek PD via Twitter)
  3. The Johns Creek International Festival made the "City Lights" team's list of "great festivals to attend" in metro Atlanta. The festival will take place on Apr. 29 in the field across from Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek. Click here to learn about the festival and other upcoming events in the area. (WABE 90.1 FM)
