Fulton Schools AP Scores See Slight Increase
Seventy percent of Advanced Placement scores taken in Fulton County schools scored in the passing range of 3 or higher.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — The College Board recently released the results of the 2018 Advanced Placement exams, and Fulton County Schools’ scores remained strong for the 2017-18 school year, the system said.
Seventy percent of AP exams taken in Fulton high schools scored in the passing range of three or higher, an increase of 3 percent over the previous year’s performance. Sixty percent of students in Georgia scored three or higher, compared to 58 percent globally.
In addition to the increase in exams scoring three or higher, the number of AP exams given to Fulton students also increased by 1 percent over the 2017 total, the school system said. In 2018, 10,000 students took more than 20,000 exams in Fulton County. From 2014 through 2018, the number of AP exams administered in Fulton County increased by 15 percent.

Northeast Learning Community (total exams: 7,388)
- Centennial High School: 74 percent
- Chattahoochee High School: 90 percent
- Johns Creek High School: 84 percent
- Northview High School: 85 percent
Northwest Learning Community (total exams: 8,702)
- Alpharetta High School: 80 percent
- Cambridge High School: 78 percent
- Milton High School: 72 percent

Advanced Placement classes offer rigorous college-level learning options to students in high school. The College Board administers AP exams each spring, with scores ranging from one to five. Students who receive a three, four, or five on AP exams are eligible to receive college credit or may be exempt from some introductory college courses.
