Georgia HS Football Recap: Chattahoochee Defeats North Springs
Chattahoochee upsets North Springs varsity boys football team at North Springs home turf. Could this start a win streak for the Hooch?
October 7, 2022: Sandy Springs, GA Chattahoochee Cougars (Alpharetta, GA) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host North Springs Spartans (Atlanta, GA), 48-26 in a league test.
With the triumph, Chattahoochee improves its record to 1-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Northview (Johns Creek, GA) to confront the Titans in a AAAAA Region 6 test on Friday, October 14. The Titans come into the test with a record of 1-6. Northview lost 47-7 in their recent league test against Kell (Marietta, GA).
A Hooch field goal by Andrew Todd in the 1st quarter remained the only points on the board at the half. The second half was a flurry of scoring, starting with a drive that ended with Hooch QB Matthew Gidley rush for short yardage and score, followed up by a Gidley pass to Darian Long, a 31 yard play ending in a touchdown.

The 4th quarter featured runs by Caleb Myers and Joseph Ebun, and a pair of safeties to finish out the Hooch Scoring. Defense offered a number of star plays, including sacks by three Hooch players: Connor Hodge, Casey Rabun, and Caden Jackson. Syrus Chivers led the Cougars tacking at an incredible seven tackles. Lawton Cox and Caden Jackson recovered two fumbles.
With the loss, North Springs drops to 4-2 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Greater Atlanta Christian (Norcross, GA) to confront the Spartans in a AAAAA Region 6 test on Friday, October 14. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 3-3. Greater Atlanta Christian lost 43-13 in their recent league test against Cambridge (Milton, GA)
