JOHNS CREEK, GA — A GoFundMe has been created to raise money for the Chattahoochee High School band to renovate the group's equipment truck.
Kim Boberg organized the fundraiser to benefit the Chattahoochee High School Band Boosters Inc. She wrote that the school and band were formed 30 years ago this fall.
"We're celebrating this anniversary with a request to all Cougar families, alumni, and community friends/partners to help us give our band truck a (much needed) makeover," Boberg wrote on the fundraiser page. "Good old Big Blue is showing her age, and we're counting on her to take us to all of our games, several regional competitions, and a national competition. When we pack up our instruments and props into her and head out on the road, we represent our high school and community. We want everyone to look at our trailer and know we come from a school of excellence."

The estimate for work on the truck is $5,000, and as of Tuesday afternoon, the fundraiser had collected more than $1,300 since it began the day before.
Additional funds collected beyond the goal will be put directly toward the band scholarship fund, Boberg wrote.
