Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. On Friday, Apr. 7, a female Fulton County deputy was attacked by an inmate, who reportedly bit off a portion of the deputy's ear. After the incident on Friday, Fox 5 spoke to the Fulton County Jail and learned that deputies are also causing problems, along with the inmates. One deputy was allegedly opening doors for an inmate, other officers might have allowed inmates to order from restaurants, and allegedly, a female officer was caught being intimate with an inmate. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. On May 6, Johns Creek Beautification will host the Secret Gardens of the Johns Creek Community tour at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. The host and executive producer of PBS’s “Growing a Greener World,” Lamp'l, will sign his new book, “The Vegetable Gardening Book” and give a presentation on local vegetable gardening. There will also be six home gardens featured, each with a musical ensemble or solo performer and visual artists. (Appen Media)
  3. The City of Johns Creek is promoting a "special artwork-filled tunnel" running under Medlock Bridge Road. The tunnel connects pedestrians to the local businesses and restaurants just south of McGinnis Ferry Road. Mural artists Hanif Kureshi and William Massey created the mesmerizing, overlapping geometric shapes that decorate the tunnel. The art symbolizes Johns Creek's geography and is inspired by the city's history and diverse ethnicity. (Subscription: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
