Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- On Feb. 16, Johns Creek Police responded to an assault at the Taco Bell/KFC on State Bridge Road. A customer attacked an employee after discovering the location did not carry the eight-count baked chicken meal. A passenger wearing a blue hoodie then got out of the suspect's black Ford pickup truck and joined the fight with a machete. A second employee tried to stop the passenger from hitting the first employee with the machete. Another man joined the fight to try to help the employees. The two suspects left after the incident and turned right on State Bridge Road. Both employees received lacerations and the man who tried to help them received a bloody nose. (Appen Media)
- Kelly Locklair, the mother of missing 31-year-old Ciera Breland, believes her daughter was killed; she said Ciera was afraid of her husband, Xavier, and was planning on leaving him. Ciera was last seen outside her mother-in-law's home in Johns Creek on Feb. 24, 2022. Xavier is the only named "person of interest" and Johns Creek PD recently said the investigation "remains very active." (Fox News)
- On Crossover Day, Georgia's House passed legislation 98-75, the controversial House Bill 231 that would create oversight boards/panels to determine disciplinary consequences for district attorneys and prosecutors who do not prosecute select low-level offenses. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said the legislation is an overreaction. Likewise, Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick, a Lithonia Democrat, said, "Their prosecutorial discretion is vital to allowing our locally elected D.A.’s to examine the specific facts of each case when deciding if and how to prosecute, and that’s threatened under this bill." Defending his bill, Dallas Republican Rep. Joseph Gullett said the state Supreme Court would review any disciplinary action made by the panels. (Georgia Recorder)

JCPD also suggests taking pictures of the vehicle with your phone. (Johns Creek PD via Twitter)
