Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:
- The Johns Creek City Council approved the Town Center Pedestrian Crossing project that will create a pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road. The arch culvert underpass will connect the restaurants and stores on the west side of Ga. 141/Medlock Bridge Road to the Town Center. The city council approved a $305,000 engineering contract with Michael Baker for the project, which is being funded by the TSPLOST II. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- On Feb. 21, the City of Johns Creek staff broke ground on the Autrey Mill Middle School right-turn lane extension project! Workers are extending the turn lane and accompanying sidewalk by 400 feet to help vehicles turn into the school easier. The extended turn lane is expected to decrease traffic delays on Old Alabama during peak school traffic. Construction is expected to be complete this spring. - The Kids Legend Club, a group of local high school, elementary, and middle school students, volunteered to help with cool season planting at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Heritage Garden in Johns Creek.
