Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. Despite being shifted into different regions, five of the six East Cobb high school football teams will maintain their rivalry games on their schedule. While Lassiter, Pope, and Sprayberry are in the same region, the others would not play each other at all. The rivalry games will be played in non-region format. The region shift did reunite old rivals Walton and Wheeler, who will get the chance to play against each other for the first time since 2017. (East Cobb News)
  2. A Johns Creek woman lost $13,500 in a fake purchase scam for an iPhone purchase. The victim received an email that appeared to be from Amazon about the purchase of an iPhone for $1,000. Since she had not purchased a phone, the victim called the number listed in the email, ultimately giving remote access of her computer to the person on the phone and wiring them $15,000 that they said she had been mistakenly credited. (Appen Media)
  3. A fake employment offer from Saudi Arabia caused a John's Creek man to lose thousands. The victim was contacted by someone on LinkedIn who knew about his experience and location. As part of the bogus hiring process, the victim was required to send photocopies of his license and passport as well as $5,155 in test payments. That same day, the fake employee requested $34,000, alerting the victim that the entire process had been a fraud. (Appen Media)
