Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. The Johns Creek City Council work sessions and regular meetings will now take place on Tuesdays. The council will meet today, Mar. 28, at City Hall, located at 11360 Lakefield Drive. The work session will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the regular meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Residents can watch the meetings online and view the agendas here. (City of Johns Creek)
  2. Judge Michael L. Brown of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, ruled that a predatory lending complaint filed against Wells Fargo & Co. by three counties in Georgia can proceed. Fulton County, Cobb County, and Dekalb County claim Wells Fargo targeted minorities living in their counties through an “equity stripping” scheme. According to the complaint, the scheme involved “a combination of predatory and discriminatory lending, servicing, and foreclosure practices over the life of a mortgage.” The counties are seeking monetary damages and "injunctive relief to remedy" from Wells Fargo. (National Mortgage Professional)
  3. According to Dr. Stanley Fineman, an allergist for Atlanta Allergy and Asthma, the pollen season started earlier this year and is expected to last longer in Fulton County. Pets can suffer from allergies just like humans, and Fineman suggests taking your dog for a long walk in the morning because pollen tends to rise around noon. Dr. Kevin Winkler, a surgeon with Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital, said he sees a lot of pets with allergies at this time of year. Winkler explained that the symptoms "can be sneezing which most people go through, but dogs very
specifically like to lick their feet. If you see them licking their feet constantly that can be inhalant allergies." (WSB-TV 2)
