Johns Creek Council Adds Right-Turn Lane At Intersection
The City Council approved a contract to install a right-turn lane on West Morton Road at State Bridge Road.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek City Council earlier this month voted to award a contract to a company to install a right turn lane at one of its intersections. The Council awarded the contract to EM Concrete to perform the intersection improvement project at Morton and State Bridge roads for $338,248.45.
According to city documents, the project will along West Morton Road from Avian Drive to State Bridge Road. The right-turn lane will be installed on Morton Road at State Bridge Road. Plans also call for resurfacing Morton Road from Avian Drive to State Bridge Road.
The city notes the project will improve traffic flow at the Morton-State Bridge intersection by adding the turn lane and improving the alignment of the through-lane across State Bridge Road.

Along with the right turn lane, the city also notes Morton was due to be resurfaced in fiscal year 2019. The resurfacing portion was added to the right-turn lane project to "in order to realize a cost savings by using the same construction contractor."
EM Concrete will have 6 months to complete this project.
