Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. This November election is the first election since redistricting last year. The Johns Creek Senate seat is currently held by a Democrat, but the new map boundaries may favor a Republican candidate. View the link to read more about the redistricting influences in the upcoming election. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. Fulton County residents now have access to free COVID-19 tests 24 hours, seven days a week. Two new COVID-19 test vending machines will give out free nasal swab PCR tests in Atlanta and Sandy Springs. The kiosks dispense the test and instructions on how to take the test, package it, and return it to the kiosk. (WSB-TV Atlanta)
  3. Another inmate at the Fulton County Jail has died just days after Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat warned the Atlanta City Council about the overcrowding and dangers of holding up the proposed plan. The plan would move hundreds of Fulton County inmates to the almost empty Atlanta City Detention Center. The inmate was found dead in his cell with his wrists and ankles bound on the mental health floor. The Atlanta Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating. (WSB-TV Atlanta)
