Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- Rebecca Zhang, who graduated from Chattahoochee High School this spring, is preparing to compete for title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen. In June, Zhang won the qualifier Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen competition. Zhang also won Miss Gwinnett County’s Outstanding Teen at the Gwinnett Fairground, Miss Troup County, Miss Atlanta, and Miss Northwest Georgia titles. Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition is set for Aug. 13 in Dallas, Texas. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- The Johns Creek Police Department is honoring Officer Adam Zenzer for twelve years of service to the department. Zenzer is retired from full-time duty and currently serves in the Reserve Officer Program. Members of the Reserve Officer Program are on-hand should the main staff require assistance or experience a hindrance in their service. (JCPD via Instagram)
- Fulton County investigators have filed additional charges against Atlanta-based rapper Young Thug, who could face up to 20 years in prison. The 30-year-old rapper is accused of illegally possessing multiple firearms, included a modified machine gun, as well as street gang activity and drug trafficking. The 88-page indictment names 27 other people along with Young Thug and claims they are part of Young Slime Life, a subset of the Blood street gang. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
