Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:
- Some Fulton County cities, including Johns Creek and Alpharetta, are debating whether to run their own elections or to continue paying Fulton County to run them. Supporters of cities running their local elections argue that it would cost less than paying the county, especially after the county raised the price again. Those who opposed the idea are worried the election would suffer due to fewer voting locations, counting paper ballots by hand, and inexperienced management. President of the North Fulton NAACP, Kay Howell, said it would be harder for voters to participate with precinct closures and shortened early voting hours. - Now through Mar. 15, residents can submit their Newtown Community Garden applications to the Johns Creek Garden Association. The 52 four-foot by eight-foot garden plots and four raised beds will be assigned by a random drawing of all applicants. Click here for details on the garden and to apply.
